Iran film to enter home market

‘The Elephant King’ is scheduled to hit the Iranian domestic market of entertainment.

Directed by Hadi Mohammadian, the animated piece is to enter home market on November 28.

Produced by Iran-based Honar Pooya Group, the animation has been described as a step forward both from the view point of technique and content.

Running for 90 minutes in collaboration with a team of 150 professionals, ‘Elephant King’ has the largest number of characters among Iranian animations.

Set in Africa, the animation film narrates the story of an elephant who rules over its group like a king.

The queen bears him a son and everybody expects the son to replace his father as heir to the throne. The clumsy baby elephant, however, disappoints them all.
